Gerding Builders is partnering with The Neenan Company, a well respected Design-Build firm out of Colorado, to design and construct the new Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital in Newport, OR. We celebrated the public groundbreaking this Tues. 5/23 for this new 126,000-square-foot project. The hospital is designed to allow for larger patient rooms, maximized workspace for care providers, and a sweeping, windowed galleria that will join the current building with the new one. When complete, the new Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital will offer an integrated medical campus that brings together specialty departments, ancillary services and outpatient clinics all under one roof.
This first phase of construction — the building of the new three-story facility — will take approximately 18 months. When it is complete and occupied, renovation will begin on the 1988 hospital building, and following that, the original, 1953 facility will be demolished to make room for parking. The full project is expected to be complete by the end of 2019.
“We are thrilled to have another exciting community project on the Central Coast and to continue our relationship with Samaritan Health Services,” said Tom Gerding, CEO of Gerding Builders. “Projects such as this bring lasting value to the community, and we appreciate the opportunity to be a part of such growth”.
